A House Built On Heritage

Stone House was built over a century ago as a country retreat, and it still feels that way today. In the 1980s, Peter and Jane Taplin took the bold step of transforming it into a hotel and, for more than 40 years, it has remained family-run – nurturing a tradition of warmth and true Yorkshire hospitality.

Today, Joe and Holly Hobson carry on that tradition, quietly preserving what makes Stone House so special while gently shaping its future. Hands-on and down-to-earth, they focus on the details that truly matter – the unique personal touches that make Stone House feel warm, welcoming, and somewhere you can truly settle into. A place to return to, time and time again.
