As the clock ticks towards midnight and our New Year guests celebrate in true under-the-sea style 🐚🐠 – yes, a lobster, a seahorse and a mermaid actually did walk into the bar this evening! – we want to pause and say a heartfelt thank you.

To everyone who has stayed with us throughout 2025 - we are so grateful for your support of our independent, family-run hotel, and for all the people who work within it. We wish you a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026, and we hope you’ll continue to choose us for your stays in the Yorkshire Dales.

We’d also like to raise a glass to our incredible team - quite simply the best we could hope for. Thank you for your dedication, resilience, good humour, and for the genuine care you show our guests, each other, and us. We couldn’t do this without you - nor would we want to.

Dear James and Kate, chefs and all the Stone House Team

On behalf of all the Family, I wanted to write and say an enormous big thank you for all your amazing work for our mum’s 90th Birthday celebration - everybody LOVED every minute of it. Your kindness, calm, organisation and the delivery of fantastic and delicious food and your unbelievable hospitality shone through at every moment of the day.

The food was incredible and the service amazing - what people have said since the day, time and time again was how kind and helpful you all were and that anything was not a problem for you in creating the most memorable day for our mum, family and friends and what a warm and friendly venue you have.

From the moment I phoned you James you were nothing other than helpful, accommodating, positive and professional - I felt totally in safe hands with you and Kate in the planning of it all - that was hugely appreciated!

You are a special team of people, with big hearts and you have a very special hotel and deliver cracking delicious food - Thank you, thank you, thank you!
