A Fireside Whisky Experience

DATE: 08/11/2026

LOCATION: Stone House Hotel

PRICE: £95

Sunday 8 and Monday 9 November 2026
Hosted by our in-house whisky expert, Phil Lindsey

Join us at Stone House Hotel for a relaxed and enjoyable whisky experience. Come for one evening or both, with each evening featuring five carefully selected whiskies, a delicious three-course dinner and plenty of stories and conversation.

Phil will guide you through each whisky, explaining where it comes from, how it is made and what flavours to look out for. You don’t need to be a whisky expert—whether you already enjoy whisky or are simply curious to learn more, you’ll be very welcome.

Sunday 8 November – New Beginnings & Historic Distilleries

The first evening brings together whiskies from distilleries spanning more than two centuries of whisky-making.

Enjoy an 18-year-old Isle of Jura, alongside two very different whiskies from Glen Moray: a 12-year-old and a peated whisky with a gentle smoky flavour.

You’ll also taste the first release from Aberargie, a new distillery built by the Morrison family, whose whisky history includes Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch.

The evening finishes with 10-year-old Olorosum, matured in a sherry cask to give it rich, fruity flavours.

Monday 9 November – English Whisky, Grain & Peat

The second evening explores an even wider range of whisky styles.

Discover Filey Bay Flagship, an English single malt made at Yorkshire’s Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, which began producing whisky in 2016.

We’ll also taste a 17-year-old North British single grain whisky. Grain whisky is made differently from single malt and is an important part of many blended Scotch whiskies, making this a particularly interesting comparison.

The evening continues with Glendronach Ode to the Valley, matured in sherry and port casks, followed by an 11-year-old Mortlach.

To finish, enjoy a special Kilchoman Maury Cask Limited Edition, combining rich flavours of dates, raisins and dark honey with gentle smoke and citrus.
