New Year At Stone House Hotel

Celebrate New Year at Stone House Hotel in the Yorkshire Dales!

Tuck yourselves away in our cosy country pile this New Year and welcome 2026 in style – think roaring fires, proper food, free-flowing drinks, and a house full of good cheer.

Our three-night New Year’s house party is all about easy-going indulgence and spirited celebration: long lazy breakfasts, wintry walks through the hills, crackling log fires, and evenings filled with fine feasting, top tipples, and a bit of fancy dress for good measure.

We’ve got the food sorted (locally sourced and lovingly made), the fizz chilling, and the music ready to go – all you need to do is grab a room and pack something a little sparkly.

Rooms are going fast and the waiting list is already growing, so if you’re keen to make this New Year a proper celebration, we’d recommend booking early to nab your spot.

Here’s a little look at what’s in store…

30 December – Drift In From 4pm

Roll up at your own pace from 4 o’clock, where you’ll be welcomed with a glass of something lovely and a few indulgent nibbles in the bar. Take a moment to settle in, breathe out, and
start to soak up the Stone House sparkle.

As the evening rolls in, we’ll gather for a twinkly reception fizzing with bubbles and anticipation, before sitting down to a deliciously decadent four-course supper. Expect seasonal delights, comforting classics, and a few surprises – all accompanied by the soul- soothing sounds of the ever-lovely Lily Ferguson, whose acoustic set is the stuff of soft-lit evenings and well-poured wine. Later, let your hair down as our in-house merrymakers lead the charge with a riotous round of ‘Smart Ass’ – with prizes worth winning and pride worth losing.

31 December – New Year’s Eve at Stone House

Wake gently with the promise of a proper Yorkshire breakfast – think crispy bacon, golden-yolked eggs, the scent of toast drifting through the halls, and coffee strong enough to remember.

The day is yours – roam, relax, or simply potter. But do save some energy… because by evening, we dress up.

The theme? Under the Sea. Take it wherever your imagination dares to dive.

Whether you emerge as a shimmering jellyfish, a pearl-draped deep-sea explorer, a glamorous sea witch, or perhaps a Yorkshireman sunbathing on the seabed, insisting it’s ‘nowt but a bit of water’ – we’re here for it. The more inventive, the better. Think bold, think beautiful, think just the right amount of unhinged.

Evening kicks off with a round of sparkling cocktails before we gather round party tables for our generous hot and cold carving buffet – laden with festive fare and all the good stuff.

As the night wears on, DJ Myles will be spinning the kind of tunes that make you forget you’e wearing a papier-mâché lobster on your head. The open bar* will be flowing, the dance floor buzzing, and come midnight, we’ll count down to 2026 with full hearts and fizzy glasses.

*Open bar subject to a few small exceptions (we know someone will ask for a 1945 Bordeaux – it’s not that open!)

1 January – New Year’s Day

Well hello, 2026! Let’s ease into the year the proper way – with a hearty Mr Crallan’s breakfast and the reassuring aroma of something sizzling on the grill. Later in the morning, join us for a gentle winter walk through the surrounding countryside.

We’ll bring the treats and just the right amount of mulled wine to keep spirits toasty. Prefer to stay in your slippers? No judgement here. There’ll be mulled wine and savoury morsels by
the fire for those who fancy a slower pace. As evening draws in, it’s time to sparkle – quite literally. We’re going cocktail attire tonight (sequins absolutely encouraged), and you’re invited to an elegant evening of good food, fine company, and a little artistic mischief.

You’ll be welcomed with a signature cocktail and canapés before sitting down to a beautifully crafted dinner. Throughout the evening, the brilliant Mike Giblin will be capturing your finer
(and funnier) features with his charmingly cheeky caricatures. You may have seen him sketching smiles on Robson’s Weekend Escapes earlier this year – he’s quick, he’s witty, and your portrait may just become your favourite souvenir.

Setting the tone with mellow jazz and swinging soul, The Joseph Carville Trio will fill the room with rich piano, warm upright bass, and perfectly timed percussion. With a repertoire
spanning the Great American Songbook to laid-back modern classics, they bring just the right blend of style, rhythm, and late-evening elegance.

2nd January – Farewell for Now

One final breakfast around the table – something comforting, something fresh from the kitchen – before we wave you off with full hearts and warm wishes. It’s been a pleasure. Let’s
do it again sometime.
